I think about my beautiful son Dylan every day, but today I hold his memory especially close. Dylan was pure love. Chocolate was perhaps his favorite food. He adored his big brother Jake in a way a drugstore Valentine's Day card could never quite capture.
This week, like so many parents, Jake and I made valentines for his classmates. And while I ached for Dylan to be there decorating little paper hearts with us, I felt we were honoring him by spreading love and making sure other children knew someone cared about them.
All children should feel loved. All children should feel safe.
That's why I'm hoping you'll take a moment and sign and then share our Sandy Hook Promise valentine to children everywhere. Promise to put our love for them first – not just on Valentine's Day, but every day.
