Update #2 ·

URGENT ALERT! Cali & Freckles Lives Were Taken on Jan 30, 2014

JUST 8 DAYS in the shelter and PTS!

According to the Inland Valley Humane Society, Cali and Freckles
came in on January 22, 2014,  had no interested parties and were Put Down on January 30th, giving them very little time for rescue.

The night before they were put down, a fellow rabbit rescue person called this shelter expressing we were all networking vigorously to find fosters and to please hold the rabbits, this call was not sent to the appropriate dept. or noted on the rabbits charts.   Fosters were found the next day, the same day they were PTS.

There are 2 more rabbits at this Shelter NOT listed on their WebsiteInland Valley Humane Society.

White Rabbit female:  ID # I1200700
Brown Rabbit male:  ID # I1200699

The Intake Card on the 2 New Rabbits is dated 1/24 which means they have been there 7 days....and not listed on the website; this is the same amount of time the other 2 buns were there when they put them down.

Anyone Not going to this Shelter location would not know rabbits or other animals are available or in danger on death row due to lack of posting the animals photos on their website.

On Jan 31, 2014 per telephone the shelter stated Bunny Bunch SPCR picked up 1 rabbit & guinea pigs but did not have space for Cali & Freckles.  It is not known if BB was contacted before they were killed.

They also stated they had 250 animals when Cali and Freckles were PTS.   To date the site has 37 dogs, 9 cats and 1 snake listed.

The facility stated they have space for 250-300 dogs, 100 cats and 13 spaces for rabbits and guinea pigs, yet Cali and Freckles were PTS to make space for little dogs that came in because there is no space in the big dog area set for them!    Is this info accurate?  Were there empty spaces and healthy animals killed?  No offers to sponsor $ giving more than 8 days?

Contradictory &
According to their Website:

" We work vigorously to find new, loving and permanent homes for every healthy pet, and we do a great job at it. Because we are a full-access shelter and never deny any animal entry, there is no set time limit for how long an animal will be available for adoption. As long as the animal is healthy, maintains a good disposition and we have space, we'll keep a pet for an indefinite period".
