Time to Modernize the Voting Process
We have some awesome news to share!
During the State of the Union address last year, the President announced a bipartisan commission that would research and recommend ways to improve the Election Day experience. This announcement came after widespread reports of frustrated voters who stood in line for hours to cast a ballot in the 2012 election.
Fast forward to this morning.
The Presidential Commission on Election Administration (PCEA) just released its report detailing how to improve the voting and election day experience in America.
The report prominently features and advocates for Rock the Vote's online voter registration tools and technologies, as well as the "Platform" concept laid out in our new white paper.
This is obviously very exciting news!
Right now, there are 19 states that use online voter registration technologies. We hope that remaining states will heed the commission's recommendations and incorporate online voter registration tools!
