Help me in my London Marathon 2014 campaign to raise money for people in the Philippines whose lives were devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.
I have managed to get my own place through the ballot in this year's London Marathon so am coming out of retirement and would like to raise money for a charity called Volunteer for Visayans to help rebuild homes in the Philippines in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. I chose this charity as I saw a feature on the news that Elsa Thomasma, a volunteer for Go Abroad Foundation working with Volunteer for Visayans, had raised money to build a shelter which saved the lives of a whole village. Her story so inspired me I got in touch to see how I could help use my marathon place to raise money for this cause.
The charity are in the process of rebuilding homes and £1,400 / $2,300 could rebuild a home for a family. For £18/$30 USD they can hold a feeding in Cangumbang for children aged 2-16 years old which could feed over 120 children in low-income families!
I would very much appreciate any contribution you can give to help me in my fundraising efforts.
