As a silk painting artist, I have addressed the incomprehensible lack of care for our 'now fragile' tropical environment, especially in my home country. My piece, 'Oil Spill', depicts the effects of such a spill on the mangrove swamps. Our national bird, the Scarlet Ibis, which nests in the Caroni Swamp, and many of the other eco-systems on which we depend. Trinidad is in the top 20 offenders of the environment in the world! We can do something to change this fact.

The EPA has proposed a landmark standard for climate pollution from new power plants—one that will help end dirty energy as we know it today. But industry leaders and their friends in Congress have already started launching attacks, attempting to stop this progress in its tracks. Don't let them win! Take action today, and show your support for EPA's efforts to fight climate change.
Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-KY) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) have joined forces to draft legislation that would essentially allow unlimited carbon pollution from power plants. While the EPA is tirelessly working to finally put national limits on carbon pollution from America's power plants, this bill would block them at every turn. Take Action: Tell your members of Congress to let the EPA do its job.
