We did it!
Big News! Due to the amazing grassroots organizing in Detroit communities and the support received through this petition, petroleum coke will no longer be stored in piles on the U.S. banks of the Detroit River!
A spokesperson for Detroit Bulk Storage, which had been stockpiling and shipping the crude oil byproduct, says it made a a business decision to stop accepting the pet coke for now. The piles have been greatly reduced and the company expects them to be gone by late August; when the Koch brothers will have to find a new place to store their polluting product.

This fight is long from over. Tar sands are still being refined and petcoke produced, but this is a huge step towards healthier communities and cleaner energy.
