To foster the arts in rural northeastern Washington with educational opportunities, entertainment and inspiration, and an essential place to celebrate our own culture and learn about others.

Metaline Falls has been called one of the 100 best small arts towns in America, and the broader region is known as much for its local artists and artisans as for its stunning scenery. At the heart of this proud reputation has been the Cutter Theatre, a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts center that for twenty years has brought quality visual and performing arts to the Inland Northwest - from Smithsonian exhibitions to local gallery showings, and from high quality community theatre productions to national and international acts that would be unheard of in any other town of 225 people.

Now, three years into the wake of the Great Recession, the heart of the arts in Washington's Forgotten Corner is struggling. Your help is needed so the doors of the beautiful and historic Cutter Theatre long remain open so that students can hold concerts and learn about performing arts, so that community members can take classes on photography or dancing, so that folks can check a book out of the library.

A community needs a place where it can go to learn, a place where people can lose themselves from their workaday concerns as the lights go dim and the curtain falls. With unemployment still hovering around 14% in Pend Oreille County, people need a place where they can laugh together, cry together.

Please help keep the arts going strong in Washington's Forgotten Corner. You can make the difference with a donation to the Cutter Theatre, by becoming a member, by attending an event, and by sharing this call for help with your family and friends.

Thank you.

1. Maintain Metaline Falls's place as a small arts town and North Pend Oreille County's role in fostering the arts in the Inland Northwest.

2. Present the best quality performing arts at an affordable price.

3. Educate young people in the arts, including theatre and music.

4. Provide art opportunities that entertain, educate and inspire.

5. Support a facility where the community can celebrate its culture and experience other cultures.
