At Wellspring Family Services we're taking on the root causes of homelessness and instability for children, adults, and families in King County. Every day we help homeless families find and hold onto a place to live, teach abusive partners non-violent behaviors, provide counseling, and empower parents to nurture their children's emotional development. For more than 100 years, we've been helping families in our community become more resilient.

Every January, volunteers span out across Seattle and King County to take part in the One Night Count.  They capture the point-in-time numbers of un-sheltered people on one cold, winter night.  This then "sets in motion a full year of education, engagement, and action"  (Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness).

How many people do you think will be counted during Seattle/King County's 2013 One Night Count?  Is your city holding a One Night Count as well?  Are you a volunteer?  Tell us your experiences in the comments section below!

Remember: everyone counts.
