I am 29 years old and I have a genetic kidney disease called Thin Base Membrane Kidney Disease. I was diagnosed with this disease about 5 years ago when I was 24 years old. I first had kidney pain when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I know for a fact that Genetically Engineered or Genetically Modified Food such as Bt Corn or corn that contains Roundup causes me to have immediate kidney pain and damage. I try not to consume any form of non organic corn, soy, alfalfa, or canola for the last 4 yrs, but without required and mandatory labeling I really can't tell until I start to feel pain in my kidneys. I have have four children, three are my blood and have a 50% chance of having my kidney disease. We have a right to know what is in our food and if the food has been engineered or modified to contain a substance or ingredient that it does not contain naturally in nature such as ROUNDUP! My children have a right and should not suffer pain from the nourishment that food brings to our bodies. Label Genetically Modified and Genetically Engineered Food because it's the right thing to do!
