Pictured here are the proud little gardeners of the Wilson School Garden of New Orleans. Last year, our Sow It Forward program offered them a grant of cash, seeds and supplies. Their school is located in the Broadmoor neighborhood of New Orleans, and it has been essential in the recovery and growth of the neighborhood since Hurricane Katrina. The school garden was instituted when Wilson’s campus reopened after the storm, and an important goal of the garden program is to provide a physical space for students and community members to work and learn side by side.
