Friends of Nature Music Festival - Miami's First Eco-Friendly Festival Supports Our Efforts to Save Dolphins
We are thrilled to announce our participation at the Friends of Nature Music Festival (FONFEST) on November 9-10, 2013 at the Virginia Beach Key Park in Miami, Florida. At FONFEST thousands of people will come together to celebrate the beauty of nature with music, food, and laughter.
FONFEST will host musicians, artists, filmmakers, inventors, comedians, and philosophers as well as non-profit organizations. The Ocean River Institute will be urging people to act to save dolphins and manatees from nitrogen pollution and harmful algal blooms.
FONFEST aims to serve as the benchmark for running festivals in an environmentally sustainable manner. Energy needs will rely on advanced bio-fuel generators and solar installations in order to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling and compost stations will be placed throughout the festival grounds. Round trip shuttles and the ridesharing service Ridepost will be available. Festival Goers can even buy carbon credits to offset their ride to and from the festival.
The Festival’s goal is to give back to the environment, which is why $20 of each two-day ticket sold using Ocean River Institute’s promo code “Ocean4FON”, will go to benefit our work saving dolphins. Tickets are available for purchase online at http://fonfest.com/tickets.
