Update #2 ·

Thank you for raising your voice

Thanks to you, we’ve reached our goal of 2,000 signatures on the petition to tell Congress to reopen all national parks so that children and teens don’t have to miss out on hands-on learning experiences that can’t be replicated anywhere else.

We’ve sent this petition off to members of Congress and the president, but the problem is far from resolved. As of this writing, most national parks are still closed, including the six parks that host NatureBridge programs.

Many of you want to know if there are other ways you can make Congress aware of how the government shutdown has prevented children and teens from learning and exploring in national parks:

  • If you know who your members of Congress are, post a message on their Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. If you want to find who your members of Congress are, you can look them up here.
  • You can also follow NatureBridge on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with the latest news and share stories.

Again, our gratitude goes out to each and every one of you for supporting NatureBridge and our national parks in this difficult and uncertain time.

Many thanks,
The NatureBridge team

PS - These students from Linscott Charter School were devastated to learn their NatureBridge program in Yosemite would have to be postponed. Their first question? Why, Congress, Why?
