This campaign is dear to my heart and am so glad that someone took the time to create it. Through my own unforgettable, heartbreaking childhood and youth experiences, God developed in me a greater heart of compassion and a sense of responsibility to help make a difference in the lives of orphaned and other destitute children living in Uganda’s poorest villages. Over the years my husband and I have created and supported local efforts to enrich children's lives in the villages of Katooke, Tonterekera and Lubumba all located in Mubende District, Uganda. We 2011 we official registered Assisted Villages Foundation (AVF) with the help of a couple of friends we have made a great impact and developed quite a reputation for creating lasting and meaningful relationships with the children we assist. Not only does AVF assist local efforts to provide quality early learning and after-school teen enrichment opportunities, we also assist children with simple resources that enhance young minds to confidently and courageously learn how to eliminate generational poverty that limits them from reaching their full potential. My husband, and I travel to Uganda each year. We continue to be amazed at how the lives of these children and their families continue to improve. God continues to show us that big things can happen in Uganda with even the smallest of gifts!
