Almost 5 years ago I met a loving, caring man that I fell in love with. He is Mexican, an undocumented worker here in this country. We are now married, almost 4 years, and have two beautiful boys. He is an inspiration to his family, especially to his family in Mexico that he has financially supported for years. Jorge and I are trying to obtain a permanent residency for him here in this country. We have been trying for 4 years, but no one can to help us due to the immigration laws that are in effect right now. We finally decided to go ahead with the process to get him legal in hopes that he won't be sent back to Mexico (for 3-10 years as we were told) while we wait for his papers. If immigration reform passes this would help us tremendously! He wouldn't get sent back to his native country to wait for a visa. I hope immigration reform passes so it can help us and other families like us in need. Jorge needs to be here with me and his boys, we need a legal status for him!
