This campaign matters to me because I work with teenagers every day. I am a high school teacher of English and am also certified for special education. I see kids every day who are trying to navigate an almost impossible social situation. For many, just getting on the bus is a major milestone because they know they will be judged, ridiculed, laughed at and worse. Often this comes from kids the might consider their friends. I have a duty at one end of a large area and several students hang out there most days because they know it is safe. That may not sound like a big deal, and perhaps it isn't, but for the few regulars, it makes them feel a part of a group for 55 minutes a day.

Join the campaign for conversation. With 3 simple words – TALK TO ME – you can let someone know that you care and are willing to listen without judgment. I am pledging to: Let my friends know that I'm always available to talk. Be respectful and supportive of everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Listen with an open mind and without judgment. Take what people say…
