Each time I go to the restroom and wash my hands, I could use and throw away a couple of paper towels. Each time I eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack, and wipe my mouth and hands, I could throw away a couple paper napkins. I could throw away a dozen paper towels and napkins each day, or reuse one cloth towel.
It's wasteful to produce a paper cup, use it once, then throw it away--even if we dispose of the cup via recycling or composting.
