If you couldn’t tell from the photo caption, I am a fan of this sunscreen. When I first tried it, I was very hesitant. It’s thicker than most face creams, and does have a slight white tint, so you really have to rub it into your skin to make it disappear. But after a week, I was addicted. It makes my skin feel great and other creams now seem too liquid and insubstantial in comparison. Plus, I LOVE the smell of roses. It’s a small bottle, but a little bit of this dense cream goes a long way.
I wear it every day and am only half-way through the bottle after almost two months. As you can see in the image, this cream is SPF 16 (why “16″ and not any of the multiples of “5″ we are used to seeing? I have no earthly clue. But, hey, it’s kind of quirky, which I like).
I use this as a daily face cream (read: instead of a daily face cream). You’re supposed to be wearing sunscreen everyday (see the second article above!), and this little bottle is the perfect way to do it. You get the moisture of a face cream, plus sun protection without smelling like you’re going to the beach.
You can find it at Whole Foods, where it sells for around $20, or you can get it directly from the Badger Balm website. And, you can feel pretty good about the purchase, because all Badger products carry the Whole Trade Guarantee seal, which means they are committed to the ethical sourcing of ingredients.
