Congressional Gold Medal Campaign, Upcoming Events & More

BORINQUENEERS.COM WEBSITE UPGRADED

We have been working very hard to keep up with technology and upgrade our website at www.borinqueneers.com. In our Gallery, we continue to post photographs of 65th Infantry veterans in our growing Borinqueneer Photos section which has a search feature to find a veteran by their name, company served or dates of service. Some of the veterans have video or audio clips. We now have a NEW section in our Gallery for BORINQUENEER VIDEOS with never-before-seen archival clips, archival clips embedded from YouTube about the 65th Inf. and media press and El Pozo Productions events videos. Our Merchandise Page now has an improved appearance and we have revamped and simplified the ordering process. Our customers will be able to save money with our more accurate shipping options based on the weight of the order.

So if you haven’t visited our website recently, come check us out! We hope our visitors enjoy these improvements. www.borinqueneers.com

UPDATE ON THE BORINQUENEERS CGM CAMPAIGN

The campaign to obtain the Congressional Gold Medal for the veterans of the 65th Infantry Regiment continues to gain momentum. Many individuals and organizations have come on board to support it and have urged their local politicians to become co-sponsors of the two legislative bills. The House of Representatives Bill (H.R. 1726) requires 290 Co-Sponsors and currently has 94 Co-Sponsors. The Senate Bill (Sen. 1174) requires 67 Co-Sponsors in the U.S. Senate in order to be considered for approval; it currently has 17 Co-Sponsors.

Among the national organizations supporting this important initiative are the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH), American GI Forum (AGIF), and the National Puerto Rican Coalition (NPRC).

El Pozo Productions has been contacting 65th Infantry veterans and their family members and helping them either write letters to their politicians or helping to schedule face-to-face meetings. We have had great success! We have also reached out to family, friends and our loyal customers in areas and states where co-sponsorship is still needed and helped them write letters to their politicians.

HAVE YOU DONE YOUR PART?

Check the Co-Sponsor list in the link below, if your Congress member or U.S. Senator is currently not listed, please contact them NOW by mail, email or phone call!

Our 65th Infantry veterans in particular (or their family members) should especially reach out to their politicians and let them know you are a 65th Infantry veteran (or a family member ) and that you are a constituent of that politician! Your politician’s support of the CGM affects you most of all and they need to know this! They need to know they have a 65th Infantry veteran living in their district.
