YOU were not raped because HE did not orgasm?
What's happening at the University of California (USC) and is it happening at other universities?
One student involved in the USC complaint to the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights said a DPS detective told her the campus police determined that no rape occurred in her case because her alleged assailant did not orgasm, and that therefore they had decided not to refer the case to the Los Angeles Police Department.
"Because he stopped, it was not rape," she was told, according to the complaint. "Even though his penis penetrated your vagina, because he stopped, it was not a crime."
When another student went to the DPS to report a sexual assault at a fraternity event, according to the complaint, an officer told her and a friend, also a sexual assault survivor who had accompanied her, that women should not "go out, get drunk and expect not to get raped."
America needs to change its views about rape. Will you take this pledge and join the campaign to make that happen - starting with changing our laws to call a rape a rape. Rape, or forcible sex, should not need proof of insertion - nor should it be limited in these days of equal marriage to a vagina. Most states still need to update their rape laws to include oral and anal rape.
Take this pledge today and play your part in changing America's rape laws to call a rape a rape and hold rapists, not victims, accountable.
