Together we make a difference. Thank you.
As you know if you have read my introduction, I survived domestic violence, and that has been one of the motivators behind the work I do, both on causes and as a victim advocate working globally to educate and help others get safe. When I saw your overwhelming response to the situation in the Maldives, It made me want to share with you all a bit more of the truth. When I was a child in a home with abuse, I was told that one person couldn't make a difference, and to not even try. I didn't believe it then, but it wasn't until years later that I had the proof that what I knew in my heart, was right. I have seen over the last weeks and now months, how each one of us, by standing up and signing, is sending a powerful message. You are also helping me prove the nay-sayers wrong. One person who talks to one more, and so on, can save lives and make positive changes in the fight to end violence against women. You are ALL amazing, and I stand in awe of what you are doing. Together we will make a difference! Thank you for taking the time, and being willing to speak up for victims who cannot help themselves.
