WE DID IT!! The passing of 'Lulu's Law' in Port Alberni Canada for Dangerous Dog Policies.
WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT AFTER A LOT OF WORK AND FINE TUNING, NEW POLICIES AND PROCEDURES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED IN PORT ALBERNI. If you remember, Lulu was the much loved family dog seized by over zealous dog control & killed within one hour. Thanks to the very hard work by Lulu's human parents, Ken & Sharon Smith, no other family will ever have to go through the agony they did. They put aside their anguish and worked tirelessly to protect our dogs. Amazing job. The ALUNA Administrators would like to thank Scott Smith the City Planner in Port Alberni, who listened and worked with us to get these in place. We have been working very hard behind the scenes to get this accomplished. We have another city looking at the policies as well. Big CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved. The new policies & procedures have been posted on our FB page https://www.facebook.com/weareAluna.
Sweet Lulu will be remembered for the changes made to 'Dangerous Dog' policies in Port Alberni and hopefully all of BC and Canada.
A very moving short TV interview with Ken Smith and his family: http://www.cheknews.ca/index.php?bckey=AQ~~,AAAA4mHNTzE~,ejlzBnGUUKY1gXVPwEwEepl35Y795rND&bclid=975107450001&bctid=2532499717001
