Update on May 31, 2013

 Please know that everyone (globally) is welcome to sign as once we win here in the UK I will be building momentum to tackle all other countries.

The Animals Poppy Day should be a globally known day.  If it weren't for the animals that left the homes of loving owners to become WAR ANIMALS then I do believe a lot more human lives would have been lost.

Upon searching for any information regarding animal remembrance days in relation to the new Animals In War Memorial I found two snippets and neither of them were very helpful.  Makes me ask the question again - WHY did they build such a monument and NOT give us a specific date in which to remember the animals? I am not the only one to feel this way, Rev James Thompson was shocked to find that only a handful of people turned up when he was last there and they cannot be blamed, most people are actually unaware that a monument has even been built!  And so the fight goes on...it does make you wonder if it were built to pacify us?

I came across my first petition from 2010 when my business partner Christopher Knight was still alive whilst I was on the above search and it sickened me to re-read it.  Back then I was petitioning for a World Wide Calender Date for Animals To Be Remembered and it was rejected by the new administration.  All the signatures were lost, including Chris's, it still pains me.  It was rejected on these grounds;

''E-petitions cannot be used to request action on issues that are outside the responsibility of the government. This includes:

* party political material

* commercial endorsements including the promotion of any product, service or publication

* issues that are dealt with by devolved bodies, eg The Scottish Parliament

* correspondence on personal issues''
~This is shocking to me, especially as it is a known fact that it was through public pressure that incited the government  to give the veterans a Poppy Day.  Let us do the same for Animals~
