Update #1 ·

Update on May 27, 2013

Thank you! You've made the launch of the new Future Fleet campaign a big
success -- 55,000 letters and counting (including over 3,000 here on Causes) from Sierra Club and
ForestEthics supporters asking the beverage giants to slash their oil
use.

Dr. Pepper-Snapple even shut down their email address to stop accepting all the letters -- your pressure is clearly being felt.

We can't let up now. These corporations need to know this is an
issue consumers are care about, not something they can ignore until it
goes away. Will you take the campaign to their Facebook pages?

Write on Coca-Cola's Facebook wall. Remind them you want them to slash their oil use and avoid fleet fuel from tar sands refineries! (https://www.facebook.com/cocacola)

Coke owns many other brands, including Minute Maid, Hi-C, and Powerade,
so even if you don't drink soda, you've probably had something that was
delivered on a Coke truck. Coke has always been pretty fast when it
comes to listening to consumer demand, and they've taken previous steps
to help the environment. That makes it even more important that you keep
raising your voice -- we can win this one.

Social media, unlike email, is public, so Coke will know other consumers
are seeing these comments and that the movement is spreading. You will have their attention.

You don't have to "like" Coke on Facebook to write on their wall -- anyone can take action. Use that power to let Coca-Cola know you've purchased their products in the past and want them to become a Future Fleet, slash their oil use, and kick the tar sands habit! Thanks for all you do for the environment,

Michael Marx,
Sierra Club Beyond Oil Campaign Director
