Update on April 26, 2013
The Guatemalan Constitutional Court has handed down various rulings in the last few days, none of which clarify whether the first ever domestic trial against a dictator for genocide will be allowed to move forward. There is still a chance that the survivors of brutal violence may have to take the stand once again, risking their lives. Worse yet, the case could be heard before another judge, one not committed to justice. The brave victims and their lawyers haven't given up hope, and continue to push for the case to move forward.
