Update #1 ·

Update on April 12, 2013

Thank you for signing the petition to protect Alaska's Bristol Bay -- the world's greatest wild salmon fishery.  And, 40 million wild salmon thank you too!

Please help us get to 10,000 signatures by sharing this with your friends and family (http://www.causes.com/ourbristolbay)!

What's next?  The Environmental Protection Agency will soon be releasing a revised study of the impacts to the fishery from the proposed Pebble mine. It will respond to the public and scientific comments it received on the May 2012 draft.  This is an important step in the campaign!  The EPA has the authority to prohibit the disposal of mine waste in the streams and wetlands that feed Bristol Bay if the science shows it will harm the fishery. So, stay tuned. We'll let you know when it comes out, and ask you to send an e-mail of support. Together, we can protect this amazing ecosystem.
