Update on March 11, 2013
Thank you for taking action. We sent your message to Congressional leadership, but unfortunately, the sequester cuts are being implemented. Last minute efforts to negotiate an alternative were unsuccessful. We will continue to follow developments closely, engage in efforts to replace the cuts, and provide analysis and information as they develop. Follow our blog posts on the budget battle and other policy issues on the Children's Monitor (http://childrensmonitor.wordpress.com/) (http://childrensmonitor.wordpress.com/) ) and check our These Cuts Won't Heal (http://www.cwla.org/advocacy/thesecutswontheal.htm (http://www.cwla.org/advocacy/thesecutswontheal.htm)) webpage for additional resources. Also, the CWLA national conference (https://netforum.avectra.com/eWeb/DynamicPage.aspx?Site=CWLA&WebCode=2013NC (https://netforum.avectra.com/eWeb/DynamicPage.aspx?Site=CWLA&WebCode=2013NC)) is taking place in Washington, April 14 to 17, and will be an excellent time to carry our message to Capitol Hill that we should not balance the budget on the backs of vulnerable children and families. Please join us as we urge Congress to make vulnerable children a priority in the ongoing budget debate.
