Update #2 ·

Update on January 30, 2013

Hey Folks!  Jason and Jennifer's garden is back in the national media today in this New York Times piece (http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/29/lawns-into-gardens/). Their case has taken some wild twists and turns during the past few weeks. First they were told they could keep their front yard garden. Then they were told that they would need modify it or face $500/day fines. After a successful media blitz, Orlando officials felt the heat again and told them that their case was on "permanent hold" and that they wouldn't face any fines...at least for now.  But Jason and Jennifer aren't looking just to save their own garden, but protect everyone's right to grow food on their own property and we owe them a debt of gratitude for fighting this fight. You, too, are to be commended for supporting them. The photo above is possible thanks to you. It's Jason handing over the 7500 signatures we collected together via our Causes.com (http://causes.com) petition to Orlando officials during a recent hearing.  We'll keep you posted on next steps and new ways to help. Best wishes, Roger Doiron, Cause Leader, Kitchen Gardeners International   (http://kgi.org/)
