Update #2 ·

Update on November 13, 2012

Thank you again for your support! Here's an update on the continuing recovery efforts.

For the first time in its history, the American Red Cross will distribute pet food, along with human food and supplies, through its emergency response vehicles.

This week, we are unloading, repackaging, and reloading pet food onto the PetSmart Charities' Emergency Relief Waggin' vehicles. PetSmart Charities and PetSmart volunteers are repackaging 200,000 pounds (100 tons) of dog and cat food into one-pound baggies for ease of distribution.

After the trucks are loaded in Phoenix, the food will be delivered to the Floyd Bennett Air Force Base in New York, where the Red Cross is staging its relief efforts. Thank you again for your gift, it's making a difference! Please continue to share with your friends and loved ones.
