Update on September 25, 2012

The video, just released on Monday by the RSPCA at Coundon Wedge Drive, Allesley in Coventry shows a shadowy figure at 4:00 a.m. trying to hide his face as he drags an obviously helpless dog on a sleeping bag to the door of the animal shelter. The terminally ill, gentle Rottweiler who could not get up, shivered for hours in the cold night temperatures on the night of September 19 until a shelter employee arrived at 7:30 in the morning to find the suffering, scared dog.

Center manager Glenn Mayoll, according to the Daily article written by Emily Allen, calls this the "worst abandonment of any animal at the center in the eight years I have worked here."

A Facebook page titled A Loving Goodbye..
reminds everyone of the incredible bond which develops between dogs and humans. It also reminds us that every animal deserves a lasting tribute, a legacy, and deserves to be treated with respect - especially during those last moments. Harris didn't die alone; volunteers stayed with him, and hundreds of people on Facebook lovingly bid Harris a gentle, forever farewell.

Goodbye sweet Harris. May you rest in peace.

"Anyone who may have any information can call 0300 1234 999 and leave a message for RSPCA Inspector Louise Labram who will be investigating the case."
