As a part of its recent effort to curb the staggering veteran unemployment rate, the VA began accepting applications for the new Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP). The program provides up to 12 months of financial assistance (currently $1,473 per month) and training for a high-demand occupation offered at various VA-approved community colleges or technical schools.

Veterans who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for VRAP:

-Between 35 and 60 years old
-Currently unemployed
-Not eligible for any other VA education benefit program
-Not receiving VA compensation due to unemployability
-Not enrolled in a federal or state job-training program

Share this information with veterans you know who may qualify and need a boost to restart their careers! For more details on the VRAP please visit the program website here.
