Thank you for taking the pledge! Memorial Day marks the start of summer, and for many that also means the start of sunburns.
Check out a recent article about the extension the FDA gave to sunscreen makers - http://huff.to/LCJFqg. Now not going into effect until December, manufacturers won't be allowed to make claims on the packaging that the sunscreen is waterproof or sweatproof. Instead, they'll be required to provide a disclaimer explaining how long the product is 'resistant' to water.
In lieu of the better labeling, make sure to adequately protect yourself from skin cancer-causing UVA and UVB rays this summer. Look for an SPF of 30 or higher and check for ingredients that include zinc, titanium, avobenzone or ecamsule.
