GREAT INITIATIVE FOR A GREAT CAUSE
For me personally, it's been a long road of early mornings, early-to-beds, and hard training for the upcoming marathon. Bangalore is not always the easiest place to train, but I've been fortunate to have an excellent coach in Toby Tanser, close running and training partners with whom to share the ups and downs, and an overall warm, welcoming and extremely supportive community of avid runners here that have kept me very much motivated, and moving forward. In addition, I have, over the years been nipping off to the small, elevated town of Iten (at ~ 2500m) in West Kenya for an annual retreat of two weeks of running at altitude. Besides being humbled by the enormous depth of talent and the sheer speed of the running, I've found wisdom and friendship among highly talented runners, and benefited enormously from staying at Lornah Kipligat's High Altitude Training Centre.
I'm now gearing up for the big day, and I have no doubt that during the race I will be digging deep and finding extra motivation from the generous support that you are able to extend to Bread and Water for Africa, and the orphanages they support.
