Research into Female Perpetrated Domestic Abuse at Coventry University
Research is being conducted for a final year dissertation project at Coventry University, England. The researcher is studying for a BSc in Forensic Investigative Studies.
The purpose of the research project is to examine the support given to male victims of Domestic Abuse/Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and to explore further whether male victims receive comparable support to female victims of IPV in the UK and USA. The resistance of society in general to acknowledge male IPV victims will be examined and how this resistance affects the level of support given to male victims of IPV and if, in turn, it affects male victims seeking support.
The research aim is to raise awareness on the struggles that male victims encounter when attempting to seek help and support.
