Can California finally stop landlords from forcing cats to be declawed?

In 2011, a bill preventing landlords from requiring cats to be declawed as a condition of renting, was passed--but vetoed by the governor. The Paw Project, an amazing organization that never, ever gives up, got similar legislation into this session--and the Senate just passed it, 37-0 (compared to 21-12 last year!).

You can make a difference in the fate of this bill: if you (or friends or relatives) live in California, call your State Assemblyman and the Governor's Office. But even if you don't live in California, you can still tell them that you will be spending your tourist dollars elsewhere if the Golden State proves it has no compassion toward cats!
