My stepfather was diagnosed with bile duct cancer/cholangiocarcinoma just 2 months ago. It metastasized to the liver and lungs. He is now in hospice care. He was exposed to the liver fluke as well as Agent Orange during his time in Vietnam. He was wounded during his service and fought the VA for decades. We thought he was over the worst of the fight. He has children, stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will not be able to share the joys of our lives with this wonderful man. Placing this disease on the presumptive list will allow many of our veterans to quickly get the treatment they need. Perhaps further studies will even lead to a test, so that other men like my stepdad won't be walking around not knowing they are sick until there are symptoms, and then it's too late.
