This bill is an overreaction to a single event, and does not solve the problem. Immigration law in this country overall should be focused on a pathway to legalization. Passing/strengthening those kinds of laws, with qualifications in place to identify criminal activity and screen for that small group of individuals, will build compromise and good will between the citizens in support of sanctuary cities and those who are concerned about immigration leading to crime. New York is a Sanctuary city, and a prime example of the best of the American melting pot. Let's keep it that way.
