I feel that there shouldn't even be a federal death penalty to begin with. It doesn't matter the circumstances. Life in all its shapes and forms should be valued and cherished, and allowed an opportunity to change, if they've done something that seems wrong or unfair. While keeping in mind change may take time so we should be patient in the growth & development of that change. I am aware many of us may live in the era of instant gratification or instant results, but we have to stop wanting those things so strongly, if we want real change to occur most effectively. Having a death penalty just reminds me of the saying "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" (in this particular case a life for a life or attempted taking of a life).
