Planning 2.0 calls for planning uses of land with its residents in mind, with the environment in mind, with the public in mind, and attempts to compromise between that and government, shareholders and corporations. We need a balance like this, because if we do not have something like this in place, the past has shown (and the future is showing) that we will rule in favor of corporations and shareholders making cold hard cash, at the expense of the people who live less comfortable lives than the rich. Regular lives, working lives. At the expense of the people who make this country what it is: great. At the expense of the environment which keeps ALL of us, everywhere, rich, poor, near, far, alive. We need a system that ensures compromise, so that the important part of this country, its people, have a say in it, and are not drowned out by Business™.
