This country was founded on religious freedom. To put religion into politics is to allow religion to determine our laws. Just as people don't want 'shiria law' people don't want Christian values forced upon them. The Christian way isn't the free way. People try to get around the law all the time because of their Christian beliefs *see gay rights being denied*. Religious freedom is granted when religion is not mandatory by law. Separation of church and state needs to be strengthened not the other way around. If I'm an advocate of anything this is my deepest passion. The thought of not having this separation evokes emotion deep within my core. Everything I ever thought my country was supposed to be is lost. I'm so thankful to have been born here but this is where I'd be completely ashamed, fearful, lost, and utterly hopeless for the future of this country. I'm 30 but I can't birth children into this country right now. That is how I truly feel without exaggeration and I'm a chill simple American from WV living in Colorado, college educated and well rounded... I just need to know my kids would actually be free to be themselves Christian or not.
