Yes. Absolutely. There is no good reason for discouraging a national holiday for voting and anyone arguing against this has ulterior motives. Some people don't understand that there are real, legitimate impedances to voting for many Americans and making "Democracy Day" (stupid name, need to come up with something better) a Federal holiday would improve turnout and increase the effectiveness of our voting. It's not fair or true to say "everyone who wants to vote already does" that's just simply not the case. We have some really outdated and meaningless Federal holidays and it's very telling that there is any pushback at all to a Federal holiday that actually makes a lot of sense. Those who are opposed to this likely believe that it will make it easier for their political adversaries to get to the polls and that is the only reason they oppose it, period. There is no other reason based on logic or critical thinking, it's simply a desire to keep certain elements of our population from voting and that is shameful.
