Throwing more money at a problem will not fix the problem. Our nation is $18 trillion in debt in addition to $100 billion in unfunded liabilities. Increasing spending (in any government agency) needs to be offset by responsible, equal and effective cuts to the federal budget in other areas. Serious governmental reform in these agencies is needed and the corruption that is rampant in agencies such as the VA and the IRS must be weeded out; plenty of money can be found and reallocated in this manner. Waste and fraud must be stopped. One could have unlimited funding but if incompetent bureaucrats are running the programs (and sometimes lying for personal benefit), the amount of money is arbitrary and doesn't actually get to the people who need it the most - our brave veterans.
