Any bill citing to “protect” will undoubtedly result in the opposite. Expect further mass surveillance measures to be put in place by US on its citizens and allies. The US government is known for inserting pernicious backdoors into public infrastructure technology. This makes it less safe and less secure — as well as a blatant surveillance system that can be used to oppress any “minority” group that an administration seems to be politically unfit. We cry and gnash our teeth against the Chinese for doing it against us and their own subjects, but we do the same thing.
