YES. I am a federal employee and am having a baby this year. I have 2.5 weeks of annual and sick leave combined. I'm looking at having to return after SIX weeks because my family cannot allow for me to be unpaid for the remaining 10.5 weeks of FMLA. Even my previous company had 6 weeks of short term disability. There are so so many studies that show when working mothers are supported and their families supported with paid maternal and paternal leave, that those mothers return to the workforce. Let's join the rest of the industrialized nations of this world and support working mothers.
