This is not about adopting people over age 18, it is for those of us who were adopted as children, but due to various issues/reasons, our parents were either unable or unwilling to complete the naturalization process. Today, most international adoptions grant automatic citizenship (if the adoption is processed legally), but for those of us who were already 18+ when the laws changed in 2000, we were excluded. This is simply to go back and correct this issue. We were all minor children when we were adopted. We did not choose to immigrate- we were brought to America (or sent to America) by/to American citizen parents. This is not an immigration issue- this is a civil and human rights issue.
