Tough one. I've been both mgmt and union and can see both sides. Without mandatory union membership, mgmt can union bust and workers need that security from abuse. We can't go back to the old days. I fear without unions, mgmt will have no accountability. On the other hand, my experience as a union member was quite unpleasant with the most aggressive and least knowledgeable pushing into leadership positions and forcing us to strike when most of us didn't want to.
