History does indeed repeat itself frequently. The first question that should be asked is “ what wall in which country had a good outcome? My only experience with an “active” wall wa Germany. I had the opportunity To go to Berlin in 1966 observe life in both Western Germany and Eastern Germany.I went through checkpoint Charley and spent 10 days in the east observing the absolute sadness and lying that happened there regularly. For 10 days,I never saw a single person smile let alone laugh.
People were killed trying to get out of the east regularly. Walls don’t work, period. This is a gigantic waste of time, money and personnel.
I am actually writing this comment from Mexico. My wife and I vacation there annually in different cities. The people are very warm, friendly and far more honest than our supreme leader.
One of the tenants hat I have learned in life is THERE iS NO RIGHT WAY TO DO A WRONG THING!
Mr Gorbachov, tear down that wall!
