typically i am against pushing for government aid but the humanitarian situation is absolutely horrifying in south sudan. giving money to the government is entirely ineffective, but having some sort of relief efforts is necessary to raise their literacy rates from 24%. it's insane how poor the conditions are in south sudan and the us can pull some weight there and honestly make a difference. a better route than this would be supporting humanitarian aid in the region from private companies and charities. if anyone wants more information on south sudan, i have a 26 page development report for you.
