What is the compelling reason to block states from taking action either for or against GMO labeling? States have the right to pass their own laws, and typically those laws better serve the people of that state. Why spend the time at the federal level to block state action until the federal legislation is written? Wouldn't it be more effective for the federal legislation to be written and passed that serves the people best now. Clear and accurate labeling of ingredients and GMO makeup seems simply obvious. We are intentionally being distracted by this so we never get around to asking and answering the right questions. Like: how do label GMO effected products to communicate clearly to the consumer how that product was produced and what is in it? And many other better questions.
