Across all levels of government, the current campaign finance structure has forced our politicians to "sell their souls" to big business and special interests in return for the funding necessary to win office. We wonder where common sense in government has gone... It's being held hostage by the super PACs that hold enormous influence over the politicians who rely on their financing in order to gain and maintain their seat in office. This leads to votes and policies that favor moneyed interests- those which can afford to literally pay to have their interests protected under legislation. We need to bring common sense back to politics but freeing our elected officials from relying on private, "dark money" donations. Let our driven and intelligent representatives vote based on the best policy for the constituents they are meant to represent- the American public, NOT just the super wealthy and big business.
