I do believe that presidential homes are a unique part of history but honestly I don’t see the long term or even short term benefit of funding a small, 1400 sq foot piece of property just so people can walk through it. Just donate whatever historical articles or items are deemed significant to a museum. If it is really that important to preserve then leave it up to the current foundation caring for the property. They are running guided tours through that are open to the public and that seems to be working just fine.
The National Park Service is under-funded enough as it is. Their resources will be better utilized to care for our actual parks and wildlife research. That’s where I want my tax dollars to go...not a house.
